5 Ways to Choose your Wedding Shoes

Do you want your wedding shoes to make a statement?

The aim for all my brides is for them to be “Fitted to Flatter“. I love seeing the happiness on their faces, after all the alterations have been done.

Needless to say, shoes are an important part of the bride’s final look and they should be brought to the pin-up fitting so that the hem is pinned up to the correct length.

But Alas! I am always wonderfully amused and curious at the choice of my brides’ footwear. It leads me into further conversation with them to see the big picture of their dream day through their eyes.

Take Nicole for instance. Nicole’s mermaid style organza skirt, with large flouncy “rose-like” swirly frills, completely contrasted to her brown boots, making a perfect picture in the pine woods.

How will you decide on your shoes for your big day?  Here are five ways to help you decide.

  1.  Still popular is the traditional elegance of matching shoes to a white or ivory dress.
  2. Some brides choose strappy heels to compliment a sleek fitting dress.
  3. Others prefer higher, chunkier platform heels for practicality so that they don’t sink into soft grass at a garden wedding.
  4. Wearing red, purple or royal blue heels give a trendy ‘pop’ to photos when worn under full princess style skirts
  5. Good old faithful ‘flats’ are chosen for comfort, considering a day of standing, walking and dancing.

So whether your style is elegant, fairytale, rock chic, glamorous or comfortable, let them reflect who YOU are.
