Cutting it fine for the perfect fit

What do you do when its three weeks before your wedding date and you realise the zip on your dress will not close?

A lot of things can change from the time you find your dream wedding gown, until the big day, when you walk down the aisle.  The thrill of seeing yourself in that gorgeous dress can sometimes mask some of the underlying issues…it is possible to breathe in a bit harder to force a closure or to ignore that slight area of discomfort, by telling yourself that it will be okay on the day.

If you do find yourself in the situation where your wedding is fast approaching, and for some reason the zip won’t close, or you can’t fit your arms in where they should go, or there is suddenly some rubbing that wasn’t there before, then panic will probably set in.

The next thing to do is to book in for a pin-up fitting.

When my bride came to me, three weeks before her wedding, a feeling of consternation was well advanced. Not only was the zip refusing to cooperate but the arm holes were doing their best to cause discomfort and chaffing.

The fitting showed me that the side seams over the bust area would need to be let out, to allow that pesky zip to close easily.  Also, by lowering the armholes the tightness was gone and she could step out in comfort.

The result was another happy bride who was Perfectly Fitted to Flatter.
